About Me

Here I am with my Yashica Mat-124 G twin reflex camera that once belonged to my grandfather, who was also a photographer. This isn't my main camera, but when I'm in the mood to take pictures with film, this is one of my favorite high quality medium format cameras.
Even when I'm not being paid to be an artist, I still see as an artist, think as an artist, and approach life with a bit of an artistic slant. Part of being an artist is pushing my own boundaries and limits beyond my comfort zone, and learning from my failures as much as from my successes. Of course, when working on critical assignments for a client, I will favor the methods that have produced reliable results in the past. That's what I'm being paid to do. Still, I'm not afraid to try new things with the goal of producing distinctive and unique results.
I've spent a considerable amount of time in higher education, both as a student and as an educator. I have a masters degree in instructional technology and I am currently pursuing a doctorate in education. When I'm not taking photos, drawing, or working on my doctorate, you'll find me dancing lindy-style swing, learning ballroom dance, riding my bike, jogging, working on my web sites, playing the piano, or sleeping in (when I get the chance).
So that's me in a nutshell. Contact me about your photographic and artistic needs and you'll get to know me better!
